The place of Churchill's disgrace, but it goes to show that you can always bounce back from failure. This was the closest I've ever been to Greece. My original plan for this trip was to visit Greece instead, but when I ran the numbers, Turkey cost less than half of what I would have spent in Greece. I will still visit Greece someday though!

Ancient ruins of Ephesus

I remember seeing something like this in Rome back in 2003, but it was more in the center of the city. I was looking forward to riding a long distance train, but was told that buses are a better option in Turkey. That, the call to prayer and everything being less expensive were the three main differences I noticed between Turkey and the European countries I've visited.
