San Antonio in the summer....hot! Of course, I went to the Alamo, but there were a lot of other interesting things to see in the same area.

My 1st trip to rural Texas
Up until visiting Johnson City, my experience in Texas was the 4 main cities: Houston & Dallas in 2003, San Antonio & Austin in 2009. This was my only experience of "rural" Texas and it was an easy day trip from Austin.

Into San Antonio, out of Austin
So my main memory of Austin was a bunch of crazy soccer fans banging on my door in the middle of the night. From now on, I will try to stay in better hotels.
